Some cartoons

I was ending the year sketching some oldfashioned cartoons with my bare hands. Nothing beats an ordinairy pencil, but I enjoy inking digitally in Artrage, which gives me more control over the final image.

I started with a cockpit (and added the girl later as an extra side-gag and to fill some room I think).

I prepared a blueprint to do the inking by hand, but decided to skip that and start right away with my Wacom tablet.

Here's the final inking using the pen-tool in Artrage.

I decided not to use too many colors on this one and keep it a little 'flat'. The thick, wet pencilbrushes in Artrage give some depth and structure to the background. Still experimenting on that one, but I love the effects so far.

On this cartoon there's a little more color and (water)painting, keeping things 'cool' and 'icy'.
