WORK IN PROGRESS
digital painting (cover illustration)

I remember the days when I used real paint, thinner, brushes, water and my own dirty hands to color my illustrations. Thank heaven those days are over: I’ve been using Corel Painter on some projects, but I grew tired of the ridiculous system resources this piece of software seems to demand. Even with 90% of memory-usage, it just doesn’t run smoothly. So, my hands are clean, but instead I’m waiting seconds (or even minutes!) to see something happen on the screen. No wonder if you can control more than 500 brushes and effects!

Recently I discovered Artrage, and it’s a real pleasure to use. It’s simple, and it looks like software aimed at children: the tools aren’t sliders, scales or anything technical (like in Painter), they look like pictures on a box. Yep! Pictures!

Artrage is a box of LEGO for digital painting. But the results are great and highly professional (and my hands are clean too)…
