In a couple of weeks I’ll be visiting the exhibition ‘The studio of Franquin, Jijé, Morris and Will’ at the Belgisch Stripcentrum Brussels. I’ll combine it with a trip to the Maison de la BD, dedicated especially to Jijé (Joseph Gillain, 1914-1980), famous for Spirou (Robbedoes), Jerry Spring, Jean Valhardi (Jan Kordaat) and Tanguy and Laverdure . Jijé is one of my all time favourite artists and his amazing drawing- and inking skills never seize to amaze me.
I’m doing a lot of sketching these days, just for fun. I’ll hope to write some more after my visit.
Here some Valhardi-stuff I did… I’ll hope to add some more in the following months.
